We took good advantage of our one full day before the shows begin to check out some sites of beautiful Barcelona. The day started with fresh bread, juicy fresh figs and espresso. Chris bought his European amp and we went off into the narrow busy streets full of laundry-laden balconies.
We went to the fort overlooking all the city and the sea. We could almost make out Egypt in the distance (actually this is technically true since all of barcelonas beaches are made from imported egyptian sand). Our plan to attack and overtake this fort unfortunately failed due to lack of weapons and army but the gate was open. We did notice that there was no opposition once we entered. In fact most people were eating ice cream and listening to pop music. But one security officer did make an effort to thwart christina's brave siet- specific dance atop the fortress walls.
Next we took the ttc to the sea. We made delicious picnic dinner, jumped in the water and spend the last moments of daylight traipsing about the beach. Finally we went off to an enourmous water fountain show at the museum of Catalan art where we focused on making pretty silhouette pictures against the brightened water works.
Tired, we made our way back to what we all wish was our permanent apartment, just off of the slim cobble street, through the iron wrought door and up to a quaint and comfy pad.... And then to bed, ready to be joined tomorrow by our last member and to make some art!!
